Sensex up 118pts; market breadth positive

The Sensex is now up 118 points at 11,896.

Larsen & Toubro has advanced over 2% to Rs 2,482. Tata Motors and Maruti have added 1.8% each to Rs 879 and Rs 890, respectively.

Satyam and ICICI Bank have gained 1.5% each at Rs 812 and Rs 618, respectively. Reliance Energy and Bajaj Auto are up 1.3% each at Rs 451 and Rs 2,827, respectively.

TCS, Infosys, Reliance Communications, Ranbaxy, HLL, ONGC, Grasim, Hindalco and Gujarat Ambuja are up around 1% each.

Hero Honda has slipped 1% to Rs 719.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,221 stocks traded so far, 1,512 have advanced, 642 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
