Sensex up 118pts; Satyam soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 118 points at 14,980.

Satyam has soared nearly 4% to Rs 482. TCS has surged nearly 3% to Rs 1,141, and Wipro has gained 1.8% at Rs 513. Infosys is up 1.7% at Rs 1,949.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 2,378. Reliance Communications, Ambuja Cements and Reliance Energy are up 1.7% each at Rs 555, Rs 131 and Rs 602, respectively.

ICICI Bank has shed 2% to Rs 984. HDFC and Cipla are down 1.5% each to Rs 1,921 and Rs 213, respectively.

Out of 2,564 stocks traded so far, 1,611 have advanced, 886 have declined and 67 are unchanged.
