Sensex up 11pts; Satyam spurts over 2%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone backed by fresh buying in technology stocks. The buying is attributed to plans of a bonus issue by Satyam following Infosys announcement last Friday.

The index is now up 11 points at 11,601.

Satyam has rebounded sharply from the day's low of Rs 805, and is now up 2.4% at Rs 836. The company's board is scheduled to meet on April 21 to consider a bonus issue.

ACC has rallied 4% to Rs 922. Gujarat Ambuja is up nearly 3% at Rs 111, and Grasim is up over 1% at Rs 2,225.

Tata Steel has moved up 2.4% to Rs 554. Infosys is up 1% at Rs 3,198.

Maruti and Hindalco have dropped 2% each to Rs 876 and Rs 183, respectively.

SBI and ITC have declined 1.5% each to Rs 964 and Rs 197, respectively.

ICICI Bank, HDFC and Wipro are down over 1% each to Rs 593, Rs 1,325 and Rs 535, respectively.

Out of 2,448 stocks traded so far, 1,324 have advanced, 1,065 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
