Sensex up 121pts; ACC, Ranbaxy move up

The Sensex is now up 121 points at 18,169.

The Nifty is up 36 points at 5,313.

Bajaj Auto has zoomed 6.5% to Rs 2,342. ACC has soared 5% to Rs 794, and Ranbaxy has surged 4.5% to Rs 414.

TCS has rallied over 3% to Rs 879. Hindustan Unilever and Grasim have moved up over 2.5% each to Rs 222 and Rs 2,860, respectively.

ICICI Bank has advanced 2% to Rs 1,232, and Cipla has added 1.6% to Rs 188.

HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro and Wipro are up over 1% each at Rs 1,577, Rs 3,550 and Rs 419, respectively.

Reliance Energy has plunged 3.7% to Rs 1,635.

Hindalco has dropped 2.6% to Rs 179, and ITC has shed 1.7% at Rs 206.

Out of 2,765 stocks traded so far, 1,640 have advanced, 1,058 have declined and 67 are unchanged.
