The Sensex is now up 121 points at 10,939.
Earlier in the day, the index opened 24 points higher at 10,842. It then slipped into the red and touched a low of 10,759. The index thereafter rebounded and touched a high of 10,977, up 218 points from the day's low.
Wipro has surged 6% to Rs 299. Tata Steel and Reliance Communications have gained 4% each at Rs 251 and Rs 222, respectively. TCS has rallied 3% to Rs 561.
Reliance Infrastructure, Infosys, Tata Motors, Grasim, Larsen & Toubro and ICICI Bank have advanced 2-3% each.
However, Bharti Airtel has shed 1.5% at Rs 699. Sun Pharma has declined 1% to Rs 1,170.
