Sensex up 123pts; ITC, HDFC zoom 5%

The Sensex has rallied to the day's high of 10,209 - up 307 points from the day's low of 9902. The index is now up 123 points at 10,165.

The market breadth continues to remain weak - out of 2,292 stocks traded so far, 1,602 have declined, 634 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.

HDFC and ITC have zoomed over 5% each to Rs 1,100 and Rs 174, respectively.

Tata Steel and Wipro have surged over 4% each to Rs 517 and Rs 482, respectively.

HLL and Tata Motors have moved up 2.7% each to Rs 221 and Rs 750, respectively.

Reliance and Bharti Airtel are up over 2% each to Rs 1,004 and Rs 369, respectively.

RCoVL has dropped 5% to Rs 229. HDFC Bank and Reliance Energy are down over 2% each at Rs 742 and Rs 436, respectively.
