Sensex up 124pts; breadth firm

The Sensex is now up 124 points at 14,535.

HDFC Bank and Hero Honda have surged 2.7% each to Rs 1,134 and Rs 716, respectively. SBI has advanced 2.4% to Rs 1,357.

Tata Motors has rallied 2% to Rs 757. Bajaj Auto and Reliance Communications have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 2,240 and Rs 510, respectively.

Satyam has gained 1.5% at Rs 473. Infosys and HDFC are up 1.3% each at Rs 1,930 and Rs 1,852, respectively.

NTPC has slipped over 1% to Rs 158.

Out of 2,424 stocks traded so far, 1,419 have advanced, 921 have declined and 84 are unchanged.
