Sensex up 124pts; Tata Steel surges 3%

The Sensex is now up 124 points at 13,506.

Tata Steel has surged nearly 3% to Rs 467. ACC, ONGC and ITC have flared up over 2% each to Rs 1,041, Rs 864 and Rs 172, respectively.

Cipla, Bharti Airtel and Infosys have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 245, Rs 614 and Rs 2,188, respectively.

SBI, Reliance Communications, BHEL and Maruti are up over 1% each.

HDFC Bank has shed 1.7% to Rs 1,020. Hero Honda has slipped 1.3% to Rs 743.

Out of 2,475 stocks traded so far, 1,286 have advanced, 1,103 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
