Sensex up 126pts; ICICI Bank, Hindalco, Dr.Reddy's soar 5%

The Sensex crossed the 11,000-mark for a brief while and is now up 126 points at 10,949.

ICICI Bank has rallied 5.5% to Rs 603. Hindalco and Dr.Reddy's have surged over 5% each to Rs 201 and Rs 1,494, respectively.

Satyam and Bharti Tele have soared over 4% each to Rs 715 and Rs 384, respectively.

Cipla, ACC and NTPC have advanced nearly 4% each to Rs 236, Rs 779 and Rs 121, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Tata Power have dropped over 3% each to Rs 760 and Rs 534, respectively.

HDFC is down over 2% at Rs 1,215.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,244 stocks traded so far, 1,581 have moved up, 634 have slipped and 29 are unchanged.
