Sensex up 127pts; Hero Honda soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 127 points at 14,538.

Hero Honda has soared over 4% to Rs 727. HDFC Bank and SBI have surged 2.5% each to Rs 1,132 and Rs 1,357, respectively.

Tata Motors and Satyam have rallied 2% each to Rs 757 and Rs 474, respectively. Bajaj Auto has gained 1.8% at Rs 2,240.

Reliance Communications and Infosys have moved up nearly 1.5% each to Rs 509 and Rs 1,931, respectively.

Maruti, HDFC and Bharti Airtel are up over 1% each at Rs 813, Rs 1,851 and Rs 840, respectively.

NTPC has slipped 1.4% to Rs 158.

Out of 2,463 stocks traded so far, 1,404 have advanced, 980 have declined and 79 are unchanged.
