Sensex up 127pts; Infosys drops 2%

The Sensex is now up 127 points at 17,934.

The NSE Nifty is up 20 points at 5,290.

Mahindra & Mahindra has zoomed 4.5% to Rs 659, and HDFC has soared over 4% to Rs 2,680.

Larsen & Toubro and BHEL have surged around 3.5% each to Rs 3,635 and Rs 2,258, respectively.

Ranbaxy has gained 3% at Rs 432. Maruti has moved up 1.4% to Rs 824, and ONGC has added 1% to Rs 1,138.

Grasim and Reliance Energy have plunged 3% each to Rs 2,951 and Rs 1,648, respectively.

Infosys has dropped 2.3% to Rs 1,624, and Satyam has slipped 2% to Rs 441.

TCS, SBI and ACC have shed 1.7% each at Rs 882, Rs 2,083 and Rs 817, respectively.

Bajaj Auto and Hindalco are down over 1% each at Rs 2,183 and Rs 195, respectively.

Out of 2,777 stocks traded so far, 1,645 have advanced, 1,049 have declined and 83 are unchanged.
