Sensex up 129pts; breadth firm

The Sensex is now up 129 points at 14,997.

Hindustan Unilever has soared 3.5% to Rs 203. Ambuja Cements and Tata Motors have surged 3% each to Rs 130 and Rs 689, respectively.

Grasim and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied 2.4% each to Rs 2,952 and Rs 687, respectively.

HDFC and Maruti have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 1,984 and Rs 825, respectively.

BHEL, NTPC and Cipla have gained 1.7% each at Rs 1,724, Rs 168 and Rs 188, respectively.

ACC and Tata Steel have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 1,016 and Rs 645, respectively.

Out of 2,637 stocks traded so far, 1,922 have advanced, 667 have declined and 48 are unchanged.
