Sensex up 130pts; breadth fairly +ve

The Sensex is now up 130 points at 16,053.

The NSE Nifty is up 42 points at 4,842.

Larsen & Toubro has zoomed over 7% to Rs 2,925, and DLF has soared 6.5% to Rs 725.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 5.4% to Rs 2,092. NTPC has surged over 3% to Rs 191.

ONGC has gained 2.5% at Rs 993. HDFC Bank, Grasim and Mahindra & Mahindra have moved up over 2% each to Rs 1,340, Rs 2,800 and Rs 683, respectively.

Ambuja Cements, BHEL and SBI have advanced 2% each to Rs 123, Rs 1,949 and Rs 1,920, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and HDFC have shed 2.7% each at Rs 781 and Rs 2,500, respectively. Satyam has dropped 2.5% at Rs 398.

Maruti has slipped over 2% to Rs 874, and ICICI Bank has declined 1.8% to Rs 856.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,467 stocks traded so far, 1,738 have advanced, 686 have declined and 43 are unchanged.
