Sensex up 130pts; NTPC slips 1%

The Sensex is now up 130 points at 14,541.

HDFC Bank has surged 2.7% to Rs 1,134. Bajaj Auto and SBI have rallied around 2% each to Rs 2,249 and Rs 1,350, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Tata Motors, Infosys and Hero Honda have moved arouned 1.5% each to Rs 509, Rs 753, Rs 1,931 and Rs 707, respectively.

Cipla, Ranbaxy and Maruti gained 1.3% each at Rs 218, Rs 395 and Rs 813, respectively.

NTPC has slipped nearly 1% to Rs 159.

Out of 2,270 stocks traded so far, 1,350 have advanced, 835 have declined and 85 are unchanged.
