Sensex up 131pts; Tata Motors rallies 3%

The Sensex is now up 131 points at 14,999.

Ambuja Cements and Hindustan Unilever have soared 3% each to Rs 131 and Rs 202, respectively.

Tata Motors has surged 2.5% to Rs 685. HDFC, NTPC, ACC and Grasim have rallied around 2% each to Rs 1,986, Rs 168, Rs 1,020 and Rs 2,938, respectively.

Tata Steel, BHEL and Maruti have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 647, Rs 1,724 and Rs 824, respecively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has gained 1.5% at Rs 682. Cipla, Reliance Communications and Reliance are up over 1% each at Rs 187, Rs 528 and Rs 1,828, respectively.

Out of 2,593 stocks traded so far, 1,886 have advanced, 660 have declined and 47 are unchanged.
