Sensex up 133pts; Metal index surges over 2%

Fresh buying in the market lifted the Sensex to a high of 11,782. The index is now up 133 points at 11,780.

The Metal index has surged 2.4% to 10,303.

Cipla has soared over 5% to Rs 261. HDFC has advanced 2.7% to Rs 1,289.

Bajaj Auto has zoomed 2.4% to Rs 2,904. Maruti and Tata Motors rallied 2% each to Rs 886 and Rs 935, respectively. Hero Honda is up over 1% at Rs 835.

Tata Steel has advanced over 2% to Rs 637. Hindalco has added 2% to Rs 210. ACC has spurted nearly 2% to Rs 940.

Satyam and Infosys have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 776 and Rs 3,202, respectively.
