Sensex up 134pts; HDFC drops 3%

The Sensex is now up 134 points at 17,751.

The NSE Nifty is up 49 points at 5,203.

Satyam has zoomed 5.6% to Rs 446, and TCS has soared 3.7% to Rs 917. Infosys has surged over 3% to Rs 1,618, and Wipro has gained 2.7% at Rs 422.

Hindalco has rallied 4.5% to Rs 185, and Tata Steel has advanced 3% to Rs 796.

Ambuja Cements and Mahindra & Mahindra have moved up around 2% each to Rs 119 and Rs 647, respectively.

NTPC, Cipla and Bajaj Auto have added 1.7% each to Rs 201, Rs 189 and Rs 2,380, respectively.

Tata Motors, Grasim and HDFC Bank have gained 1.5% each at Rs 717, Rs 2,882 and Rs 1,558, respectively.

ACC and Reliance Energy are also up around 1.5% each at Rs 778 and Rs 1,599, respectively.

HDFC has tumbled 3% to Rs 2,670. BHEL has dropped 2% to Rs 2,083, and SBI has slipped 1% to Rs 2,182.
