Sensex up 134pts; ITC, SBI soar

The Sensex is now up 134 points at 11,149.

ITC, SBI and Tata Motors have rallied around 3.5% each to Rs 179, Rs 861 and Rs 793, respectively.

Satyam has surged 2.5% to Rs 763. Reliance Communications has advanced over 2% to Rs 284. Dr.Reddy's is up nearly 2% at Rs 1,445.

Gujarat Ambuja, Hero Honda and Reliance Energy are up around 1.5% each.

HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are down nearly 1% each.

Out of 2,448 stocks traded so far, 1,625 have advanced, 746 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
