Sensex up 135pts; Hindalco, Tata Steel lead

The Sensex is now up 135 points at 18,648.

Hindalco has zoomed 5.6% to Rs 200, and Tata Steel has soared 5% to Rs 962.

Reliance Energy has surged 3% to Rs 1,703. ICICI Bank has rallied 2.4% to Rs 1,124.

SBI, Relinace and Bharti Airtel have advanced 1.6% each to Rs 1,940, Rs 2,652 and Rs 1,002, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors and BHEL are up over 1% each at Rs 3,444, Rs 784 and Rs 2,300, respectively.

Cipla has plunged 3.4% to Rs 190. ONGC and Dr.Reddy's have slipped 2.3% each to Rs 1,081 and s 616, respectively.

HDFC Bank has declined 1.8% to Rs 1,480. Satyam and ITC have shed 1.3% each to Rs 455 and Rs 182, respectively.

HDFC is down 1% at Rs 2,518.

Out of 2,609 stocks traded so far, 1,645 have advanced, 878 have declined and 86 are unchanged.
