Sensex up 137pts; ITC soars 6%

The Sensex is now up 137 points at 10,179.

ITC has zoomed over 6% to Rs 176. HDFC and Tata Steel rallied 4.5% each to Rs 1,094 and Rs 517, respectively.

HLL gained 3% at Rs 221. Wipro, Satyam and Dr.Reddy's have added 2.5% each to Rs 475, Rs 689 and Rs 1,300, respectively.

Reliance Communication has plunged 5.5% to Rs 228. HDFC Bank and Reliance Energy have shed 2% each to Rs 745 and Rs 437, respectively.

Out of 2,370 stocks traded so far, 1,682 have declined, 642 have advanced and 46 are unchanged.
