Sensex up 138pts; Rel Comm surges 4%

The Sensex is now up 138 points at 19,976.

ONGC and Larsen & Toubro have zoomed nearly 6% each to Rs 1,320 and Rs 4,490, respectively.

Reliance Communications has surged over 4% to Rs 804. ICICI Bank has rallied 3.5% to Rs 1,300.

Ranbaxy has gained 3% at Rs 440.

HDFC Bank has advanced 2% to Rs 1,685, and SBI has added 1.7% to Rs 2,102.

Infosys has moved up 1.4% to Rs 1,865. Mahindra & Mahindra is up 1% at Rs 762.

Hindustan Unilever and Bharti Airtel have plunged over 5% each to Rs 196 and Rs 954, respectively.

ITC has slumped 4% to Rs 172. Maruti has tumbled over 3% to Rs 1,040.

Wipro and ACC have dropped around 2% each to Rs 494 and Rs 1,057, respectively.

Reliance, Cipla and NTPC have shed 1.7% each to Rs 2,733, Rs 176 and Rs 236, respectively.

Out of 2,740 stocks traded so far, 1,611 have declined, 1,061 have advanced and 68 are unchanged.
