Sensex up 139pts; L&T, Infosys weak

The Sensex is now up 139 points at 11,961.

Reliance has rallied 4% to Rs 926. ONGC has added 2.4% to Rs 1,339.

Hindalco has surged 3.7% to Rs 207. Tata Steel has soared nearly 3% to Rs 606.

BHEL has rallied 2.8% to Rs 2,347. Grasim (Rs 2,290), HDFC (Rs 1,312), NTPC (Rs 142), HDFC Bank (Rs 849) and Reliance Energy (Rs 651) are up over 2% each.

Larsen & Toubro has dropped 1.5% to Rs 2,600. Infosys has slipped over 1% to Rs 3,300.

Out of 2,375 stocks traded so far, 1,326 have advanced, 973 have declined and 76 are unchanged.

Reliance leads the value chart with a turnover of Rs 172.73 crore followed by Essar Oil (Rs 84.62 crore), Tata Steel (Rs 67.54 crore), Ranbaxy (Rs 56.50 crore) and Wipro (Rs 43.50 crore).

Essar Oil tops the volume chart with trades of around 1.74 crore shares followed by SAIL (33.34 lakh), Reliance (18.88 lakh), Himachal Futuristic (18 lakh) and Reliance Natural Resources (15.20 lakh).
