Sensex up 140pts; M&M rallies 3%

The Sensex is now up 140 points at 20,953.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has zoomed 3.3% to Rs 837.

SBI has soared 3% to Rs 2,476, and HDFC Bank has surged 2.8% to Rs 1,703.

Bharti Airtel has rallied 2.5% to Rs 960, and Reliance Communications has gained 2.3% at Rs 808.

ONGC has moved up 2% to Rs 1,325, and Larsen & Toubro has added 1.8% to Rs 4,356.

ITC and Satyam have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 235 and Rs 420, respectively.

Bajaj Auto is up 1.3% at Rs 2,569, and Reliance has gained 1% at Rs 3,047.

Hindalco has plunged 2.6% to Rs 212, and Grasim has slipped over 2% to Rs 3,440.

ICICI Bank and NTPC have dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 1,338 and Rs 264, respectively.

ACC and Tata Steel are down 1% each at Rs 991 and Rs 916, respectively.

Out of 2,891 stocks traded so far, 2,166 have advanced, 701 have declined and 24 are unchanged.
