Sensex up 142pts; BHEL, HDFC soar 5%

The Sensex has surged back to higher levels and is now up 142 at 10,759.

BHEL and HDFC have rallied 5% each to Rs 1,955 and Rs 1,190, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and ONGC have surged over 3.5% each to Rs 397 and Rs 1,177, respectively.

Grasim and NTPC have moved up nearly 3% each to Rs 2,084 and Rs 115, respectively.

Hero Honda has dropped 1.5% to Rs 693. Ranbaxy and Gujarat Ambuja have slipped over 1% each to Rs 367 and Rs 104, respectively.

Out of 2,459 stocks traded so far, 1,405 have advanced, 966 have declined and 88 are unchanged.
