Sensex up 143pts; breadth firm

The Sensex is now up 143 points at 14,146.

HDFC has soared 2.6% to Rs 1,797. SBI and BHEL have rallied around 2% each to Rs 1,318 and Rs 1,340, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, ACC, HDFC Bank and HLL have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 810, Rs 811, Rs 1,099 and Rs 189, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Infosys and Relaince Energy are up 1.3% each at Rs 492, Rs 2,009 and Rs 527, respectively.

Hero Honda has slipped over 2% to Rs 680.

The market breadth very firm - out of 2,154 stocks traded so far, 1,563 have advanced, 539 have declined and 52 are unchanged.
