Sensex up 144pts; SBI, Bharti advances 2%

The Sensex is now up 144 points at 15,047.

Ambuja Cements has soared 3.3% to Rs 131. ACC has surged 3% to Rs 1,009.

NTPC has gained 2.7% at Rs 168. Reliance Energy has moved up 2.5% to Rs 761.

Maruti, Tata Motors and SBI have advanced 2% each to Rs 843, Rs 663 and Rs 1,714, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has added 1.8% to Rs 877. Wipro and Reliance Communications are up 1.7% each to Rs 466 and Rs 540, respectively.

Out of 2,245 stocks traded so far, 1,788 have advanced, 418 have declined and 39 are unchanged.
