Sensex up 145pts in early trades

The Sensex opened 44 points higher at 16,687, following last week's near 3% fall. The index is now up 145 points at 16,788.

ONGC has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 1,242. Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications have gained 1.7% each at Rs 1,315 and Rs 254, respectively.

TCS, Bharti Airtel and Maruti have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 571, Rs 348 and Rs 1,496, respectively.

Tata Steel, Reliance, SBI, DLF and Infosys are also up over 1% each.

HDFC Bank and Hero Honda however have slipped 1% each to Rs 1,655 and Rs 1,630, respectively.
