Sensex up 145pts; L&T, HDFC Bank surges 3%

The Sensex is now up 145 points at 14,558.

Larsen & Toubro and HDFC Bank have rallied nearly 2.5% each to Rs 2,042 and Rs 1,131, respectively.

Reliance Communications and SBI have surged 2% each to Rs 512 and Rs 1,351, respectively.

Cipla has gained 1.7% at Rs 218, and HDFC has added 1.4% to Rs 1,855.

Infosys, Hindalco, Maruti and Reliance Energy are up 1% each at Rs 1,927, Rs 142, Rs 812 and Rs 540, respectively.
