Sensex up 146pts; Infosys moves up 2%

The Sensex is now up 146 points at 17,796.

Reliance Energy has soared 4% to Rs 1,687.

Grasim has surged over 3% to Rs 2,990. ACC has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 834, and Ambuja Cements has added 1% to Rs 124.

BHEL and HDFC Bank have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 2,138 and Rs 1,458, respectively.

Infosys has moved up 1.7% to Rs 1,641. ONGC, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance Communicatios are up nearly 1.5% each at Rs 1,028, Rs 637 and Rs 599, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Maruti are up 1% each at Rs 1,122 and Rs 805, respectively.

Bharti Airtel is down over 1% at Rs 841.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,662 stocks traded so far, 1,663 have advanced, 927 have declined and 72 are unchanged.
