Sensex up 147pts; breadth negative

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 25 points at 9271. The index touched a low of 9262, and soon rebounded into the positive zone.

The index rallied to high of 9491 - up 229 points from the day's low. The index is up 147 points at 9443.

The market breadth is negative - out of 1,097 stocks traded so far, 643 have declined, 438 have advanced and 16 are unchanged.
