Sensex up 148pts; HLL, Satyam gain 4%

The Sensex is now up 148 points at 13,511.

Wipro has surged 4.7% to Rs 618. HLL has flared up nearly 4% to Rs 217, and Satyam has rallied 3.6% to Rs 481.

Maruti, Gujarat Ambuja, Bharti Airtel and NTPC have advanced nearly 3% each to Rs 907, Rs 141, Rs 630 and Rs 136, respectively.

ITC, Reliance Communications and Tata Steel are the other major gainers.

Infosys has slipped over 1% to Rs 2,144.

Out of 2,639 stocks advanced, 1,661 have advanced, 922 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
