Sensex up 149pts; NTPC, ONGC firm

The Sensex is now up 149 points at 19,932.

Reliance Energy has zoomed 5.5% to Rs 1,886. Ranbaxy has soared 4% to Rs 432.

NTPC has surged nearly 3% to Rs 241. ONGC has gained 2.5% at Rs 1,250.

SBI, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications and Tata Steel have advanced around 2% each to Rs 2,105, Rs 1,019, Rs 781 and Rs 915, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Tata Motors are up around 1.5% each at Rs 1,257 and Rs 780, respectively.

Wipro has dropped 1.7% to Rs 501. TCS, Infosys and Satyam are down over 1% each at Rs 1,035, Rs 1,828 and Rs 474, respectively.

Out of 2,705 stocks traded so far, 1,536 have advanced, 1,105 have declined and 64 are unchanged.
