Sensex up 149pts; pharma stocks surge

The Sensex is now up 149 points at 11,162.

Tata Motors has rallied over 3% to Rs 790. Dr.Reddy's and Ranbaxy have surged 2.5% each to Rs 1,456 and Rs 406, respectively.

ITC has advanced 2.4% to Rs 177. Reliance Energy, SBI, Tata Steel, Wipro and Satyam  have added nearly 2% each to Rs 473, Rs 847, Rs 521, Rs 511 and Rs 756, respectively.

TCS, HDFC, Hindalco, Maruti and Cipla are up 1.5% each.

The are no losers among index stocks.

Out of 2,236 stocks traded so far, 1,552 have advanced, 608 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
