Sensex up 14pts; HDFC Bank drops 3%

The Sensex is now up 14 points at 15,713.

Ranbaxy has zoomed 7.6% to Rs 367. Cipla has soared 3.5% to Rs 193.

Maruti has surged 3% to Rs 834. Satyam has gained 2.5% at Rs 499.

Infosys has rallied 2% to Rs 2,030. Bajaj Auto, Reliance and Tata Motors have moved up around 1.5% each to Rs 2,390, Rs 1,930 and Rs 736, respectively.

TCS and Mahindra & Mahindra are up 1% each at Rs 1,162 and Rs 791, respectively.

ACC has plunged 3.8% to Rs 1,030. Grasim and Gujarat Ambuja have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 2,921 and Rs 126, respectively.

HDFC Bank has shed 3.4% to Rs 1,200. BHEL, Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,747, Rs 926 and Rs 2,520, respectively.

Out of 2,469 stocks traded so far, 1,509 have advanced, 877 have declined and 83 are unchanged.
