Sensex up 152pts; BHEL surges 4%

The Sensex is now up 152 points at 11,465. The Nifty has gained 51 points at 3364.

HDFC Bank has rallied nearly 5% to Rs 846. Hero Honda and BHEL have surged around 4% each to Rs 709 and Rs 2,265, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Ranbaxy have surged over 3% each to Rs 2,380 and Rs 404, respectively.

Tata Motors, Hindalco, Dr.Reddy's and ONGC have moved up around 2.5% each to Rs 821, Rs 170, Rs 1,473 and Rs 1,242, respectively.

Bajaj Auto and Bharti Airtel are in negative zones.

Out of 2,513 stocks traded so far, 1,881 have advanced, 581 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
