Sensex up 152pts; SBI soars 3%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 152 points at 20,965.

SBI has soared 3% to Rs 2,476, and HDFC Bank has surged 2.8% to Rs 1,703.

Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications and Satyam have rallied 2% each to Rs 956, Rs 806 and Rs 422, respectively.

ONGC, ITC and Mahindra & Mahindra have gained 1.8% each at Rs 1,324, Rs 235 and Rs 825, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up 1.4% to Rs 4,338, and Bajaj Auto has added 1% to Rs 2,560.

Grasim and Hindalco have plunged 2.3% each to Rs 3,435 and Rs 212, respectively.

NTPC has dropped 2% at Rs 263, and ICICI Bank has shed 1.7% at Rs 1,340.

Tata Steel is down over 1% at Rs 915.

The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,876 stocks traded so far, 2,191 have advanced, 664 have declined and 21 are unchanged.
