Sensex up 153pts; NTPC, L&T up 2%

The Sensex is now up 153 points at 19,683.

Tata Motors has zoomed 4.5% to Rs 777, and ONGC has soared 3.4% to Rs 1,196.

Cipla has surged 2.8% to Rs 190, and Hindalco has added 2.5% to Rs 199.

NTPC and Larsen & Toubro have rallied over 2% each to Rs 244 and Rs 4,316, respectively.

Reliance and HDFC Bank have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 2,907 and Rs 1,728, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Ranbaxy and Reliance Communications are up over 1% each at Rs 781, Rs 392 and Rs 720, respectively.

ITC and Infosys have slipped 1% each to Rs 190 and Rs 1,598, respectively.

Out of 2,861 stocks traded so far, 2,154 have advanced, 650 have declined and 57 are unchanged.
