Sensex up 154pts, Wipro surges 4%

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 74 points at 10,473, and soon rallied to touch a high of 10,597.

The index is now up 154 points at 10,553.

Wipro has surged 3.6% to Rs 466. ITC and Hero Honda have gained 2.5% each at Rs 170 and Rs 791, respectively.

Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel and ICICI Bank have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 2,803, Rs 529 and Rs 549, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's, BHEL, Reliance Energy and Hindalco are up over 2% each.
