Sensex up 156pts; BHEL soars 5%

The Sensex is now up 156 points at 12,611.

BHEL has soared over 5% to Rs 2,266. Wipro has rallied over 3% to Rs 535, and Hero Honda has surged 2.8% to Rs 657.

NTPC, Grasim, Satyam, Infosys and TCS have advanced around 2% each to Rs 151, Rs 2,100, Rs 456, Rs 1,959 and Rs 1,211, respectively.

HLL and Gujarat Ambuja have gained 1.7% each at Rs 199 and Rs 105, respectively.

Out of 2,257 stocks traded so far, 1,253 have advanced, 938 have declined and 66 are unchanged.
