Sensex up 158pts; Bharti soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 158 points at 14,822.

Bharti Airtel has soared nearly 4% to Rs 870. Hindustan Unilever has surged 3.4% to Rs 196.

Grasim has rallied 3% to Rs 2,695, and SBI has advanced 2.8% to Rs 1,573.

Cipla and Larsen & Toubro have moved up over 2% each to Rs 215 and Rs 2,280, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Ambuja Cements have gained 1.8% each at Rs 968 and Rs 125, respectively.

HDFC has shed 2.4% to Rs 1,982. Reliance Energy has slipped 1.3% to Rs 616.

Out of 2,685 stocks traded so far, 1,446 have advanced, 1,158 have declined and 81 are unchanged.
