Sensex up 158pts; Wipro up 4%

The Sensex is now up 158 points at 16,312.

The NSE Nifty is up 37 points at 4,916.

Infosys has soared 5% to Rs 1,586, and Wipro has surged 4% to Rs 442. Satyam has gained 1.8% at Rs 460.

Reliance Energy has rallied 3.3% to Rs 1,344. Hindalco has moved up 2.3% to Rs 178.

ICICI Bank and Reliance Communications have advanced 1.6% each to Rs 820 and Rs 528, respectively.

DLF and Reliance are up 1.5% each at Rs 626 and Rs 2,648, respectively.

Ambuja Cements has plunged 3.5% to Rs 113. BHEL has shed 2.5% at Rs 1,790.

Tata Motors and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 615 and Rs 215, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Hindustan Unilever have dropped 1.6% each to Rs 804 and Rs 242, respectively. ONGC is down 1.3% at Rs 1,011.

Out of 2,688 stocks traded, 1,936 have advanced, 678 have declined and 74 are unchanged.
