Sensex up 160pts; M&M soars 4%

The BSE Metal and Realty indices have helped the Sensex to rally high. The index is now 160 points higher at 14,269.

The BSE Metal index has soared 3% at 10,563 and the Realty is up around 2% at  3,577.

The market breadth is positive, out of 2,609 shares traded, 1,626 have advanced, 931 have declined and 52 are unchanged on the BSE so far.

Mahindra & Mahindra has soared over 4% to Rs 652. Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro have added over 3% at Rs 794 and Rs 1,352, respectively.

ACC has gained over 2.5% at Rs 727. Reliance and Sun Pharma are up 2% each at Rs 2,237 and Rs 1,344, respectively.

 

ITC, Maruti and Reliance Communications  have advanced 1.5% each at Rs 187, Rs 990 and Rs 309, respectively.

Tata Motors has dropped over 3% to Rs 332. Reliance Infrastructures is down 2.5% at Rs 1,255.
