Sensex up 162pts; Tata Steel drops 4%

The Sensex is now up 162 points at 15,157.

The NSE Nifty is up 16 points at 4,590.

HDFC has zoomed 5.5% to Rs 2,336, and Wipro has soared 4.6% to Rs 394.

ICICI Bank has rallied 3.5% to Rs 793. ONGC and TCS have surged 2.8% each to Rs 1,020 and Rs 832, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel have moved up 2.5% each to Rs 1,300 and Rs 797, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have advanced over 2% each to Rs 673 and Rs 665, respectively.

Ambuja Cements has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 124. ITC and Hindustan Unilever have added 1.7% each to Rs 190 and Rs 229, respectively.

SBI, Larsen & Toubro, ACC and Infosys are up around 1.5% each to Rs 1,628, Rs 2,882, Rs 788 and Rs 1,361, respectively.

Tata Steel has plunged 4% to Rs 612. Reliance Energy has tumbled 3.6% to Rs 1,163, and Jaiprakash Associates has slipped 3.3% to Rs 197.

BHEL has dropped over 2% to Rs 1,807. DLF is down over 1% at Rs 616.
