Sensex up 163pts; cement stocks surge

The Sensex is now up 163 points at 12,367.

HDFC Bank has rallied over 4% to Rs 930. Infosys has surged 3.3% to Rs 1,862.

Gujarat Ambuja has flared up over 3% to Rs 121, and Grasim has added 2.7% to Rs 2,558.

Larsen & Toubro, Wipro, SBI and Reliance Communications have gained 2% each to Rs 1,262, Rs 520, Rs 1,036 and Rs 346, respectively.

Out of 2,533 stocks traded so far, 1,840 have advanced, 627 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
