Sensex up 165pts; Bharti, Tata Steel up 4%

The Sensex is now up 165 points at 14,154.

Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel have soared around 4% each to Rs 569 and Rs 845, respectively. BHEL has zoomed 3.8% to Rs 1,650.

Mahindra & Mahindra and ONGC have rallied 3% each to Rs 631 and Rs 813, respectively.

Reliance Energy and ITC have surged 2.7% each to Rs 711 and Rs 156, respectively.

Ambuja Cements and Hindalco have gained 2.4% each at Rs 130 and Rs 139, respectively.

Cipla has dropped nearly 4% to Rs 170. Tata Motors has shed 1.6% to Rs 624.

Out of 2,599 stocks traded so far, 1,593 have declined, 952 have advanced and 54 are unchanged.
