Sensex up 167pts; auto stocks rally

The Sensex is now up 167 points at 13,954.

Auto stocks are in demand. Bajaj Auto has zoomed 5% to Rs 2,751. Hero Honda has rallied 4.3% to Rs 795. Maruti has advanced over 3% to Rs 959, and Tata Motors has added 2% to Rs 918.

Satyam has surged 2.7% to Rs 497. Infosys has flared up 2% to Rs 2,285. TCS is up 1.4% at Rs 1,235.

Gujarat Ambuja has gained 1.7% at Rs 144. Ranbaxy and ICICI Bank are up around 1.5% each at Rs 398 and Rs 902, respectively.

Out of 2,537 stocks traded so far, 1,947 have advanced, 536 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
