Sensex up 167pts; Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel still down

The Sensex is now up 167 points at 10,984.

Wipro continues to rule firm and is now up 7% at Rs 301. Reliance Infrastructure and Tata Steel have gained 6% each at RS 710 and Rs 255, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Tata Motors and  Sterlite have added 4% each to Rs 224, Rs 242 and Rs 382, respectively.

Infosys, Grasim, ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, TCS and Larsen & Toubro have advanced 2-3% each.

Meanwhile, Sun Pharma is still down 2% at Rs 1,159. Bharti Airtel has declined 1% at Rs 702.

The market breadth is marginally negative. Out of 2,410 stocks traded, 1,204 have declined and 1,113 have advanced.
