Sensex up 170pts; cement stocks weak

The Sensex is now up 170 points at 12,795.

BHEL has surged 2.5% to Rs 2,309. HDFC, ICICI Bank, Wipro and Dr.Reddy's have advanced 2% each to Rs 1,455, Rs 820, Rs 545 and Rs 733, respectively.

Satyam and HDFC Bank have gained 1.8% each at Rs 467 and Rs 929, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, ONGC and Bharti Airtel are up around 1.5% each at Rs 1,552, Rs 855 and Rs 746, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja has dropped over 3% to Rs 102. ACC and Grasim have shed nearly 2% each to Rs 692 and Rs 2,068, respectively.
