Sensex up 170pts; Grasim surges 4%

The Sensex is now up 170 points at 18,313.

The NSE Nifty is up 58 points at 5,332.

Grasim has soared 4% to Rs 3,065. HDFC and Wipro have surged 3.7% each to Rs 2,885 and Rs 421, respectively.

ITC and Infosys have rallied 3.5% each to Rs 203 and Rs 1,498, respectively. TCS has gained 2.7% at Rs 877.

Cipla and ONGC have moved up 2.5% each to Rs 189 and Rs 1,025, respectively.

DLF and Tata Steel have advanced 2% each to Rs 910 and Rs 712, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Mahindra & Mahindra and NTPC have rallied nearly 2% each to Rs 357, Rs 699 and Rs 217, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and Reliance are up around 1.5% each at Rs 203 and Rs 2,602, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has dropped nearly 3% to Rs 2,390. ICICI Bank has shed 1.7% at Rs 1,252, and Maruti has slipped over 1% to Rs 853.
