Sensex up 171pts at 10,745

The Sensex is now up 171 points at 10,745.

Larsen & Toubro and HDFC are up 2.4% each at Rs 2,502 and Rs 1,311, respectively.

Satyam has gained 2.3% at Rs 804. TCS is up 1.9% at Rs 1,756.

Hero Honda, SBI, ITC, Bharti Tele, HLL, Cipla, Gujarat Ambuja, Tata Motors, Hindalco, Dr.Reddy's, ACC, Tata Steel, ONGC, BHEL and Infosys are up 1-2% each.

Reliance Energy is the sole loser among the Sensex stocks.

Out of total of 2,572 stocks traded so far, 1,475 have advanced, 1,021 have declined and the rest are unchanged.

Reliance Communication Ventures (RCoVL) leads the value chart with a turnover of Rs 143.42 crore followed by renamed KEC International (Rs 135 crore), another newcomer Gitanjali Gems (Rs 121.16 crore), SBI (Rs 102.89 crore) and Tata Motors (Rs 92.31 crore).

Reliance Natural Resources (RNRL) tops the volume chart with trades of around 1.18 crore shares followed by Triveni Engineering (87.32 lakh), Gitanjali Gems (67.44 lakh), Mysore Cement (50.43 lakh) and RCoVL (48.16 lakh).
